Reds refute Ayala rumours

Gerard Houllier was reported to have spoken with the Argentine international in order to complete a shock transfer deal after the Reds 2-0 defeat to Ayala's Valencia side this Saturday.

A spokesman for the Anfield club has, however, today insisted that there is no truth to this particular tabloid tale.

"The story is one hundred per cent not true," a Liverpool spokesman told the club's official website.
