Reds remain in Champions League hunt

Starting the day three points adrift of fourth-placed Fulham in ninth place, the Reds remained within touching distance of the Champions League after the Cottagers were narrowly beaten by Claudio Ranieri's Chelsea.

Newcastle, thought by many to be Liverpool's main rivals for the prized final place in the top four, also dropped two crucial points in a dour 0-0 at Charlton.
