Reds set for the Racecourse

Chester's Deva Stadium will no longer play host to second-string fixtures after a row over a pre-season fixture led to the termination of the agrement between the two sides, so Liverpool are now actively seeking a new home for their reserve team for the new campaign.

While those hardcore supporters who follow Hugh McAuley's men are unlikely to be happy with the decision to relocate even further away from the city, it appears that a deal with the Welsh club is imminent.

A Liverpool spokesman said: "Talks are ongoing with regards to playing our reserve games at the Racecourse Ground next season and Wrexham couldn't have been more welcoming in their dealings with us so far."
