Reds stadium plans get go-ahead

The announcement, which should bring to an end desperate hopes thart Everton held of a sharing a stadium with the Reds, was made after lunchtime today following a morning inspection of the proposed new site by Council planning committee members.

The purpose-built stadium will retain the world-wide allure that has been earnt by the name Anfield and will be located near the club's current facility in Stanley Park.
