Reds start pre-season training

The members of the Liverpool squad who didn't go to the World Cup are back at Melwood for the start of pre-season training, including Craig Bellamy, Fabio Aurelio and Mark Gonzales who will find out if his work permit application was successful tomorrow.

New reserve team coach Gary Ablett was also at Melwood despite Everton's attempts to hold up his move with their new compensations claims.

The members of the first team squad who did go to the World Cup have been given an extra fortnight off to recover.
