Manchester United claimed on their official site yesterday that they had signed the Cardiff City youngster for £5m. However, the FA Cup finalists were quick to deny any bid had been accepted although they have confirmed they are allowing Ramsey to talk to Premiership teams.

"We can confirm that on Tuesday, June 3, Cardiff City have received formal bids from three top Premier League teams for Aaron Ramsey and that he has been given permission to speak to two of these teams. One of these teams is Manchester United, as has been reported, although at this stage we can confirm that no deal has been done and the player has not yet agreed terms," said a Bluebirds spokesman yesterday.

"More details will be made available as they are released to us."

Liverpool are apparently prepared to offer cash plus season long loans for Paul Anderson and Adam Hammill.
