Reds to go straight into group stage?

FIFA's suspension of Greece and its member clubs from international competition because of government interference in the sport could result in Liverpool going straight into the group stage of the Champions League.

If FIFA's suspension of Greece is upheld, Olympiakos will not be allowed to take part in this season's Champions League. As things stand Olympiakos have qualified for the group stages. However, if they are banned from the competition Liverpool, as highest ranked seeds in the 3rd qualifying round, will take their automatic place in the group stage of the European Cup.
