Reds to make improved Neill offer

Blackburn Rovers rejected a £2m bid for the Australian defender from Liverpool last night. The Reds are set to return with an improved offer before the transfer window closes tonight, however, they are unlikely to match Blackburn's £4m valuation of a player who can leave on a Bosman at the end of the season.

Neill is unpopular with the Liverpool fans after breaking Jamie Carragher's leg in a cowardly challenge three years ago.
