Reds to make Mido move

Mido, a controversial figure with a reputation based as much on suspect temperament than it is on talent, is seeking a move away from the Dutch giants after failing to secure a permanent move whilst on loan to the Reds' UEFA Cup conquerers Marseille last season.

Southampton are also reported to be interested, according to French media reports and the players' agent, and it seems more likely that the fiery forward will team up with the likes of Peter Crouch and Brett Ormerod than Michael Owen and company.

Mido's agent, Christophe Henrotay, told Sky Sports: He is going to probably go on loan to England, we know this.

"I know these clubs (Southampton and Liverpool) are interested and maybe something will happen next week. There is a lot of interest and we will have to see."
