Liverpool qualify for the tournament as winners of the Super Cup in 2001. Other teams said to be participating include Manchester United, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Celtic and Chelsea.
The first World Champions Series was a resounding failure and Manchester United upset a lot of people by withdrawing from the FA Cup to play in the tournament.
