Reds trio in England squad

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is joined in the 24-man squad by Jamie Carragher, currently revelling in his new centre-back role, and fit-again goalkeeper Chris Kirkland.

The words Birmingham City next to the name of the much-maligned Emile Heskey may raise a smile, but Michael Owen as a representative of Real Madrid will still cause anxiety to many a Red heart.
