Reds unable to appeal Alonso decision

Xabi Alonso will miss tomorrow's game against Fulham after referee Steve Bennett refused to change his mind about the red card. Bennett wrongly sent Alonso off when he slipped and fell into Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini. However, the referee has refused to admit he made a mistake and Alonso will serve a one game ban.

Liverpool are unable to appeal against the decision because FIFA guidelines only allow appeals in the case of mistaken identity.
