Reds will play qualifier

There was talk that Liverpool could be granted an automatic place in the group stage of the Champions League after FIFA expelled Greece from international football due to government interference. As highest ranked team in the qualifiers Liverpool could have taken Olympiakos' place in the group stage.

FIFA have since lifted the ban on Greece so Olympiakos can play in the group stage and Liverpool will have to play their qualifier.
