Reds win

A goal from FA Youth Cup winner Craig Lindfield on his first start for the first team was enough to give Liverpool a deserved win. The goal came from after Bolo Zenden played the ball in just behind Robbie Fowler who cleverly back-heeled it into Lindfield's path. Lindfield buried the ball into the top left corner of the net to cap an excellent 45 minutes from the young striker.

Lindfield has just been promoted from the Academy to Melwood and his goal and his all round performance showed why Rafael Benitez has moved him up to the reserve team.

Fabio Aurelio started the game in the left midfield role and showed some promising touches and a good link up with man of the match Robbie Fowler. Mark Gonzales was a second half subsitute who showed in flashes why Benitez was keen to recruit him.

Daniel O'Donnell was impressive alongside Sami Hyypia at the heart of the Reds defence while second half sub Gabriel Paletta continued where he left off last week with a good defensive performance.
