Second half goals from Steven Gerrard and Peter Crouch, both following assists from Dirk Kuyt, were enough to see off PSV and ensure the Reds top their Champions League group regardless of what happens in Instanbul in two weeks time.

The Reds were on top throughout the game and easily deserved to win. Pepe Reina didn't have much to do until the final minute when he stopped Carlos Salcido getting a consolation goal from close range.

Gerrard side footed home his second goal of the season on 64 minutes when a clever ball from Kuyt sent him racing into the 18 yard box for a one on one with the PSV goalkeeper.

Peter Crouch wrapped things up in the 88th minute after good work from Bolo Zenden who skipped past a couple of defenders before slipping a pass out wide to Luis Garcia. Garcia crossed for Kuyt who headed back across goal allowing Crouch to head home almost on the goal line.
