Reina confident

The Reds have left themselves an uphill task in qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League, but Reina believes the experience of the 2007/8 season when Liverpool took only one point from their opening three games before qualifying, can stand them in good stead.

"If we win the games, we'll be there. It depends on us," said the goalkeeper.

"We were in an even worse position in 2007 if I remember correctly. We had just one point at this stage but finished with 10. It is going to be tough but we're able to do it.

"We have shown character already this season. We did it versus United when it was a must-win game against a big team. I have no reason to believe we can't win the game.

"They have some quality players, especially in midfield. They also have some skilful players up front and they're good from set-pieces.

"We're in a tough moment but Liverpool fans are Liverpool fans. We promise to play with passion and desire, and they'll be behind us."
