The Spanish keeper admits that he had considered leaving after interest from other clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, but he is now committed to a bright future with Liverpool under new boss Kenny Dalglish.
"Recently I talked with Comolli and was asking him about the future," he said. "Everything has changed here. I believe in this club, I believe in the project and I am happy here.
"I believe we are in the right place and going in the right direction and we have to keep it like that. I think next season will be more positive.
"The quicker we react and improve the better for the club, but you cannot change overnight. It will take a little while. We know how much work there is to be done but we are optimistic.
"The owners are preparing a big summer and hopefully we are going to be right in the transfers we make and the players that come in will improve the squad."
