Remember King Billy

Last updated : 23 May 2008 By Adam Bryant
A petition has been launched and the list of names will be sent to the Scottish Parliament with a request that Liddell be inducted into the Scottish Football Association Hall Of Fame at Hampden Park.

Liddell played in 534 league games and scored 228 goals between 1938 and 1961 - 232 years of playing for the Reds. During that time he was capped 28 times and further eight wartime caps were added to his role of honour. Billy or "King Billy" as he was known also graced the Great Britain side who played the Rest of the World in 1947.
