Reserves beaten

The reserves lost 3-2 to Manchester United in a game left over from last season. Gary Ablett had to play a young side in this game with David Martin, Stephen Darby, Emiliano Insua, Jay Spearing, Damien Plessis, Daniel Pacheco and Krisztian Nemeth all in Spain with the first team squad.

Despite the lack of experience, Liverpool reserves gave a good account of themselves. Nathan Ecclestone and Jordy Brouwer scored the Reds' goals.
