Reserves beaten

The reserves' title hopes were brought to an end with defeat to City thanks to an unlucky penalty awarded against Andre Wisdom.

"It was frustrating to lose the game to a penalty right at the end of the first half and I thought the decision was harsh," said reserve team boss Pep Segura.

"I asked the referee about it at half-time because I thought it was a 50-50 challenge but this is football and we lost the game.

"It was a difficult situation for us because we had a shortage of strikers. Michael Ngoo was injured and Adam Morgan had played on Saturday so we wanted to protect him, and with Nikola Saric not fit enough to start it meant we had to use Nicolaj Kohlert in a position he is not used to playing.

"I thought Kohlert worked hard and he tried to do his best for the team and gave 100 per cent. I am very happy with him because in the last two seasons he has hardly played.

"He is a good professional with a fantastic attitude and this is what all the players need to have every day."
