Reserves beaten again

With most of the reserve regulars in tonight's squad to face Millwall only keeper Paul Harrison, defender David Raven, striker Mark Smyth and captain Jon Welsh had any real experience at this level, the rest of the side being promoted from the miss-firing under 18's side.

Mark Smyth scored for Liverpool and won a penalty that was missed by Welsh but two first half goals by Bolton were enough to see off the Reds.

This was the second string's sixth defeat of the season and it leaves them perilously near the bottom of the table.
