Reserves draw

The reserves found themselves 2-0 down after only six minutes and had goalkeeper Paul Harrison to thank that things didn't get worse. However, after weathering the early storm the Reds were able to play some neat football themselves.

Jon Welsh and Anthony Le Tallec both had chances to reduce the deficit before Harrison was called on again to keep the Reds in the game. Darren Potter also went close for Liverpool after some good link-up play with Ritchie Partridge.

Paul Harrison produced two excellent saves just before half time and the Reds went into the interval 2-0 down. However, the game was turned on its head a mere fifteen minutes into the second half.

Reserves coach Hugh McAuley made a tactical change at half time, bringing Darren Potter back into midfield to partner captain Jon Welsh. The change worked; Liverpool were 3-2 up at the hour mark.

Ritchie Partridge started the comeback on 52 minutes before a Le Tallec double took the Reds into the lead. The Reds were unable to add a fourth and paid the price when Blackburn equalised ten minutes from time.
