Reserves draw

A Liverpool reserve side containing Luis Garcia and Daniel Agger were held 0-0 by Bolton at the Racecourse this evening.

Garcia played as a second striker just off Ramon Castille in his first half appearance while Agger played alongside Miki Roque at centre half before being subsituted after 53 minutes. Jack Hobbs again captained the side in midfield.

Liverpool had the better of the play all night but were unable to find the elusive breakthrough their play deserved. Paul Anderson set up Castille after only five minutes but his header was saved Danny Guthrie almost scored after 20 minutes but again the Reds were denied by some fine goalkeeping.

Garcia linked up well with Anderson before the break to set the former Hull winger free but unfortunately Anderson's shot was cleared off the line. Antonio Barragan and Lee Peltier also came close before half time.

It was more of the same after the break with Peltier and sub Adam Hammill both coming close but both being denied by some good keeping from the Bolton goalie.
