Reserves draw

The reserves held a strong Man Utd side, containing first team squad members Wes Brown, Mikael Silvestre, Darren Fletcher and Alan Smith. Bolo Zenden was the first team squad member in the Liverpool side as he played the first 45 minutes to earn some much needed match fitness following his return from injury.

Liverpool comfortably held United and had chances to win the game with Craig Lindfield and Nabil El Zhar impressing up front. Man Utd had chances too, but Miki Roque and Godwin Antwi had imposing games at the heart of the Reds' defence.

There was a further boost for Gary Ablett's side when Jack Hobbs came on as a half time subsitute for Zenden. Hobbs has missed much of the season with an ankle injury so it was good to see him playing again.
