Liverpool reserves and Everton reserves shared a 1-1 draw at the Halton Stobart Stadium in Widnes last night.

The Bitters took a bizzare lead in the first half when they played the ball back to Reds keeper Martin Hansen following a drop-ball. Hansen missed the ball completely as it rolled through his legs into the net for 1-0.

Liverpool were level within four minutes after Daniel Pacheco's shot-cum-cross was turned into his own net by Everton defender Hope Akpan.

Both teams went for a winner in the second half but neither could find the breakthrough. Everton came closest, hitting the woodwork twice, but the spoils were shared at the final whistle.
