Gary Ablett's side beat Newcastle 5-1 last night in their final league game of the season. Goals from Mikel San Jose, David N'Gog, Damien Plessis and two from subsitute Daniel Pacheco gave the Reds a comfortable win.

This win means Liverpool won't finish bottom and are currently in seventh place although staying there is dependent on other results.

This game was also notable as it saw Philip Degen play 70 minutes without picking up an injury.
