Reserves held

Liverpool and Leeds drew 0-0 in what was, despite the lack of goals, a quite entertaining game at Elland Road last night.

Liverpool had their chance of the game after ten minutes when captain Jack Hobbs released the recently returned Robbie Foy down the left. Foy, who has been on loan at Wrexham, played in Ramon Castille. Castille shaped to shoot but was brought down by the goalkeeper. However, the referee waved away Liverpool's penalty appeals.

Jan Kromkamp went on a mazy run to the edge of the Leeds area before playing in Adam Hammill, who saw his shot well saved by the Leeds keeper.

Just before half time both sides were reduced to ten men when Castille and Leeds defender Simon Walton were both dismissed for an off the ball incident.

Both teams continued to have chances in the second half with Foy, Hobbs and Lee Peltier excellent for the Reds. FA Youth Cup hero Craig Lindfield almost snatched a winner in the final minute but was denied by the Leeds keeper to ensure both teams took a well earned point from the game.
