Liverpool's reserves took the lead when Leeds defender Stewart Edwards turned Diouf's cross into his own net before conceding two goals in two minutes before half time and another in the second half.

Liverpool can feel hard done by as they were leading 2-1 after an hour before this fixture was abandoned last December.

The Reds also had two penalty claims turned down when Pongolle was pushed in the box.

The performance of Sinama was a real bright spot for the Reds on an otherwise forgettable evening. A first team place beckons.
