Reserves win

Liverpool found themselves 2-0 down after 36 minutes but fought back to win the game in the final five minutes. The fightback began just before half time when Danny Guthrie scored with a header to give the Reds a glimmer of hope.

David Mannix scored the equaliser on 75 minutes with a Xabi Alonso style free-kick. The winner came ten minutes later from captain David Raven who was playing at left-back to allow Godwin Antwi to play his first full game at right-back.

There was some bad news for Liverpool when Antonio Barragan limped off after 35 minutes following a bad tackle but his replacement, Academy winger Adam Hamill, was to be the Reds' man of the match.
