A strong Liverpool side saw off Wolves at Bucks Head. Daniel Agger made his Liverpool debut at centre-half as a second half subsitute for Djimi Traore while Jan Kromkamp played his first full 90 minutes in a Liverpool shirt.

Liverpool had the better chances in a game that was watched by Rafael Benitez, Florent Sinama-Pongolle twice coming close to opening the scoring after through balls from Hamann and Kromkamp respectively.

Kromkamp had an impressive game and linked up well with former Hull winger Paul Anderson on the Reds' right hand side.

Hamann almost opened the scoring on the hour mark but was denied by Wolves keeper Matt Murray. However, the Kaiser was not to be denied and moments later he scored a fantastic goal to give the Reds the lead and ultimately the win.
