Reserves win

A Craig Lindfield goal five minutes before the interval was enough to give the Reds their first league win of 2007. It was a fully deserved win as Liverpool took charge of the game from the off.

The margin of victory should have been greater as Lindfield, Miki Roque and Robbie Threlfall all came close to scoring a deserved second. Good performances from David Martin in goal and the back four meant Lindfield's goal was enough to win the game however.

It was a good night for Godwin Antwi and Jay Spearing as well. Antwi captained the side for the first time and gave a commanding performance at the back while Spearing made his first start at reserve level and immediately fitted in.

The win means the younger members of this side can go into Saturday's FA Youth Cup match with Chelsea full of confidence.
