Reserves win

The reserves emerged victorious from a difficult away game with Warrington Town to book their place in the semi-finals and a possible date with Everton.

Gary Ablett selected a young team on the night but the players did the club proud as goals from Besian Idrizaj and captain Danny Guthrie gave the Reds the win.

Idrizaj capitalised on some sloppy Warrington defending to fire Liverpool into the lead after 16 minutes but it was all square four minutes later when a Warrington striker's shot took a wicked deflection of Miki Roque and looped over Reds' goalie David Martin.

Guthrie restored Liverpool's advantage ten minutes into the second half when he slotted home from close range. Paul Anderson, Idrizaj and Guthrie all had chances to wrap the game up but in the end 2-1 was enough to send the Reds into the semis.
