Gary Ablett's side got back to winning ways with a 2-0 home win over the Smoggies last night. David N'gog scoring both Liverpool's goals after two excellent assists from man of the match Daniel Pacheco.

The Reds started the game sluggishly but that was to be expected, considering this was their first game since a goalless draw with Hull back on December 16th.

Liverpool did begin to assert themselves and soon began creating chances with Kristian Nemeth, Nabil El-Zhar and Pacheco all testing the goalkeeper.

The breakthrough finally came after an hour when Pacheco's through ball found N'gog just inside the penalty area. N'gog's first touch was excellent, taking out the defender and opening up a chance. A quick toe-poke saw the keeper beaten and the Reds in the lead.

It was 2-0 five minutes later when another Pacheco through ball again played in N'gog. The Frenchman lifted the ball over the outrushing keeper and into an empty net.

Subsitute Andras Simon had a couple of chances to wrap the game up but was denied by some good goalkeeping. It didn't matter, 2-0 was enough.
