Reserves win

The reserves beat Man Utd 1-0 at Prenton Park last night thanks to David N'Gog's fourth minute goal. Keeper David Martin's long clearance found N'Gog who went past a defender before beating the keeper.

Man Utd pressed immediately for an equaliser but found Martin in top form. This was important as Liverpool were reduced to ten men after only 34 minutes when Damien Plessis was shown a straight red card for dangerous play.

The Reds still created chances for N'Gog and sub Jay Spearing but it was United who had most of the ball in the second half. Despite their posession they couldn't find a way past Martin and the reserves had their second win of the season.
