John McMahon's side opened up a six point lead at the top of the table with a 4-1 hammering of Hull last night. David Amoo (2), Nathan Ecclestone and Nikola Saric scored the goals.

Liverpool went for it from the start. Steve Irwin almost opened the scoring with a 25 yarder that just cleared the crossbar. Saric and Ecclestone also went close before the Reds took the lead after 25 minutes.

Alex Kacaniklic crossed from the left and Amoo was on hand to steer the ball home for the opener.

The Reds continued to press but somehow only went in 1-0 up at the interval. The second half had only just started before that lead was doubled however. In the 47th minute Daniel Pacheco crossed for Ecclestone to tap home.

The floodgates were open; four minutes after that Amoo skined the full-back before pulling the ball back for Saric to finish from eight yards out.

Pacheco then came close when he tried his luck from 25 yards only to see his shot come back off the post.

The Spaniard got another assist to his name minutes later when he crossed for Amoo to score his second at the second attempt after his first shot was blocked by the keeper.

Hull pulled a consolation back from the penalty spot just before the end but it couldn't take the gloss off another excellent performance.
