Gary Ablett's side booked their place in the final with a 2-1 win over a combined Benfica and Sporting Lisbon side on Friday night. Andras Simon gave Liverpool the lead on 33 minutes, the Portugese side equalised on the hour mark before subsitute Krizstian Nemeth played in Ryan Flynn in the 88th minute for the winner.

The Reds met Mexican side Tigris in the final, a team they'd already beaten 5-1 in the group stage. Gary Ablett warned his side against complacency after the group stage win and his team heeded his call to run out 3-0 winners.

Ray Putterill played in Nemeth after ten minutes for the Hungarian striker to give Liverpool the lead. Putterill then got another assist when his corner was headed home by Martin Kelly. Nemeth wrapped the game up with his second goal in the 90th minute.
