Return to Anfield South

Leading 1-0 from the first leg, a second half Steven Gerrard strike was again enough to see off Watford as the Reds progressed to their third League Cup final in six years.

Liverpool were the best team on the night and could have scored more than one, Fernando Morientes and Milan Baros both coming close for the Reds. At the other end Watford could have had a penalty when Mauricio Pellegrino seemed to foul Bouazza. However, not for the first time this month, Mike Riley decided not to award a clear penalty and it was nice for the Reds to be the benefactors for a change.

The Reds will face either Chelsea or Manchester United in Cardiff on February 27th. Anfield South awaits!
