Riise chasing record

Riise should pick up his 42nd cap when he lines up against Malta tonight and while 42 caps for a 24 year old is a good record he is still some way short of the 104 caps earned by record holder Thorbjorn Svendsen.

Riise is confident of overhalling Svendsen's record however, especially if he continues his good form of this season.

"As the situation is now, the goal is to beat that record," Riise said.

"It is just up to me how many matches I will play in. But all the time I have got to work to live up to the expectations, both in the national team and at Liverpool."
