River Plate Higuain interests Reds

Higuain is one of South America's most talented players, catching the interest of top European teams including Real Madrid, Barca, Milan and Liverpool. He recently scored a brace in River's victory over Boca Juniors in the Superclasico, and is considered to be one of the continents top young talents.

The player's agent, Pini Zahavi, has paid approximately £3m for the player. The move gives Zahavi 50% control over the player, who he now believes will head for English soil.

Zahavi said, "He is big, strong and well suited to the English game. English football has become stronger than Italy and Spain and players want to try it for themselves."

And Higuain's class has been acknowledged by French coach, Raymond Domenech. Higuain, who was born in France but has lived his life in Argentina, is eligible to play for either country but has refused to clarify which he will pick.

Domenech said, "We know the player, and he is interesting. One does not play at that level if he does not have talent and the second quality is that he could be French. He is a player we are going to follow closely."
