"I'm getting closer now," he said after the game. "I've had one chalked off rightly for offside and one now which was a little bit harsh to be honest, but I'm getting closer.

"Since I've been here the manager has put a bit of faith in me and he's played me in more games than I would have expected myself so I'm feeling good at the minute."
