Rumour Mill: Owen for £6m?

As expected, the gossip mongers have linked him with a move back to Anfield, although there's very little chance of that happening after he shunned the opportunity to return from Spain to Liverpool in favour of St James Park.

Instead, it is a lot more likely that Manchester City will make a move. Sven Goran Eriksson's men have made a promising start to the new season and are looking likely to be playing European football next term.

Given the choice however, I'm sure the boy Owen would prefer to hang up his domestic boots to concentrate on his international career.
