Rumour Mill: Reds in for United target?

The 25-year-old Sao Paulo full back looked all set for a move to Manchester Uniterd, but a move has been delayed because he needs an Italian passport before he can complete a move to England.

"Manchester United are a big club that challenges for big trophies but I have also heard that Liverpool are now interested," he said.

"It's a matter for my agents to deal with from now on. The Premiership is a great league and any professional player would regard it as a fantastic challenge."
