Rumour Mill: Reds look to Morientes

The Liverpool boss tried to sign the Real Madrid striker in the summer, but he was keen to stay at the Bernabau.

"I wanted Morientes as part of the Owen deal but he had given his word to Camacho to stay and he kept it," Benitez said at the time.

Since then manager Jose Camacho has been sacked and Morientes could be temnpted to join the Reds.
