Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has already agreed an £8m fee for Peter Crouch, but Rafael Benitez is keen to switch it to a player-plus-cash deal to lure the 23-year-old Croatian away from Fratton Park.
An offer in the region of £7m plus Crouch could seal the deal.
