Rumours, Lies and Cyberspace

The dodgier websites, in a bid to attract much-needed traffic, have created the kind of stories that would not look out of place in the Sunday Sport.

With an accuracy rate that Diego Forlan would be proud of, these sites use the philosophy that the more predictions you make the more chance there is that one will happen.

Here are just a few. We'll let you decide how true they are, and will withhold the site names to protect the innocent (or guilty).

Leeds, Liverpool, Celtic ready as Paranaense chief jets to UK for Kleberson talks - The award for the longest headline in the history of the internet, check out the clever use of multiple clubs to spread the rumour over a greater area - brilliant!

Midfielder linked with possible switch to Manchester City - Cunningly disguised as a Liverpool story, this article is actually nothing to do with LFC, but a dodgy rumour about a player who has been linked with us in the past - classic!

Houllier reveals Yakin interest - Beautifully crafted piece that totally goes against a quote from the Liverpool boss that the club were not interested in the Basel player - fantastic!
