Rush backs Kop to roar Reds to victory

Rush has backed the Reds' famous 12th man to play a big part in Tuesday's Champions League game against Real Madrid.

"Madrid haven't played at Anfield and they won't be ready for the atmosphere," sais the Liverpool legend.

"They'll say they know about it but look at Juventus in 2005. They said they were expecting it, but were blown away in the first-half. Chelsea were 1-0 down before they knew it that year too.

"When the players walk out onto the Anfield pitch in the Champions League it's a completely different atmosphere to anything you'll find anywhere else, and that could be the difference for us.

"I'm certain we can get through the tie.

"This is what the Europe is all about. This is the start of the Champions League for me - if you lose then that's it, you're out. We're into the serious business-end of things.

"You're playing against good teams all the way now, and if you can get into the last eight and get a good draw then anything can happen."
