Liverpool legend Ian Rush believes Lee Bowyer will prove to be a huge hit at Anfield.
Rush took Bowyer under his wing while at Leeds and reveals that the then youngster had a keen interest in Liverpool's results.
"I actually took Lee and another young lad called Mark Ford to watch Liverpool at Anfield regularly. He certainly seemed to enjoy watching the Reds when I was with him," said Rush.
"Maybe that helps to explain why he was so keen to move to Merseyside.
"I got to know Lee quite well during my time at Elland Road and despite the picture that has been painted of him by sections of the national press, he is actually a very easy going lad.
"A lot has been said about that court case last year but that has gone now and you have to remember he was found not guilty.
"He's also the type of lad who will repay people who put faith in him and that is why I believe he will be a great signing for Liverpool."
