Rush focused on City clash

With most fans already anticipating the May 11th showdown with Chelsea, it would be easy for Liverpool to lose vital points against an undoubtedly dangerous opponent in Manchester City. Liverpool coach Rush believes that the Reds are too professional to allow such an occurence to take place.

Rush said: "Nobody at Liverpool is looking beyond Saturday's game with Manchester City.

"Fans are already talking about the prospect of a Champions League showdown with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on the final day of the season.

"But there is a tough game to contend with this weekend. And, in many ways, it is a more difficult proposition because everybody is expecting the Reds to cruise past City at Anfield.

"But Kevin Keegan will have his players up for it, after a disappointing run of results, and in Nicolas Anelka and Robbie Fowler
he has two former Liverpool strikers who will be eager to make an impression.

"Neither player has anything to prove, but when you return to a former club you always want to make a mark."
