Rush not surprised by transfer inactivity

The Welshman feels that Steve Finnan will not be the only new face in the Liverpool team once the new season begins in August.

Rush said: "Liverpool fans should not be too concerned that there are not a lot of transfer dealings at the moment.

"Very little goes on at this time of the year, especially given the financial situation football is now in. Clubs don't want to be paying the wages of a new signing when the player is still on holiday.

"It is likely that negotiations are going on behind the scenes, without players actually putting pen to paper. When the clubs return for pre-season, that is when we will see things start to happen."
