Rush: Owen loss is a blow

"Losing Michael Owen over Christmas is a terrible blow," said the former Liverpool legend, who now coaches the club's strikers.

"He is going to miss more games because of his dedication to get fit for his club.

"Michael has been pushing himself so hard in training and was desperate to get himself fit for the Wolves game.

"It looked as if he was going to be fine in the middle of last week, but then he suffered a setback because he has been working so hard.

"There are certain players who like to ease their way back and do not seem to mind a spell on the sidelines. It is as if they like being injured.

"It is the complete opposite with Michael. He hates missing a game."
